While hunting for mushrooms in south Alabama I came across the Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa. Tropical storm Gorden had just passed through. As a result, inches of rain fell here in south Alabama. Therefore, this presented an awesome opportunity for dedicated mushroom hunters such as myself.
Coral Slime Mold is the common name. Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa is found growing on decaying logs on the forest floor. The Ceratiomyxa fruticulosa is truly an amazing and beautiful gift from nature. Keep Exploring!
