Crown Tipped Coral Mushroom

The crown tipped coral mushroom (Artomyces pyxidatus) is a member of the Auriscalpiaceae family. I found this tiny coral mushroom by accident while studying another mushroom. This was an awesome find while out hunting for mushrooms. This cool little fungi measured about 2 cm in height. Certainly, the coral mushrooms are without doubt, some of my favorite types of mushrooms. Another cool coral mushroom I found here in south Alabama is the Ramaria formosa mushroom.
